Opera Masterclass

with Margaret Field

THE REDMOOR SCHOOL, HINCKLEY
Monday 11th April, 10.00 & 1.15

Five highly talented students of singing have each prepared an aria especially for this masterclass and, infront of an audience of school pupils, will be given expert tuition by top vocal coach Margaret Field, Visiting Lecturer in Singing at Birmingham Conservatoire, who will lead this masterclass at Redmoor School in Hinckley. This event is not open to the public although a limited number of places are available on request to relatives and singing teachers of the five participating students. Margaret Field Margaret began her career in Australia singing many roles as a principal soparano with Victorian State Opera and has since given over 80 recitals for Radio 3. As a soloist, she has sung with many of Britain's foremost orchestras and performed at many major British venues including The Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Wigmore Hall, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, St David’s Hall Cardiff and Symphony Hall Birmingham. With English National Opera at the London Coliseum she sang Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff and Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme.

Margaret made her first record Cabaret Songs of the Jazz Era for the ABC. Her recording of British Songs was released in 1995 by Redcliffe Recordings. Her CD A Garland of Roses was also released in 1995 on the Walsingham Classics Voice of Australia label.
